PIGEON FORGE

Sevier County Right To Life president Ursula Beckmann extends an invitation to residents and visitors to be part of the eighth annual Pro-Life Rally/March on Sunday, Jan. 13.

A short program will begin at 2 p.m. at Country Tonite theater on the Parkway. The gathering will open with prayer by the pastors of New Hope Church. The master of ceremonies will be Skip Roberts from Pathway Church.

He will introduce the New Hope Dancers, making another appearance by request, followed by a brief play by the youth group of Holy Cross, directed by Roger White.

There will be an original music piece, written and sung by Patrice Kalinowsky, a local artist. The main speaker will be Dr. Raymond Finney, former state senator and a resident of Maryville. The program will conclude with music by the Youth Group of Gum Stand Baptist Church.

Following the program at Country Tonite, participants will have a memorial walk, remembering and praying for what Right To Life calls the 53 million children whose lives have been lost to abortion since the U.S. Supreme Court decision, Roe v. Wade, made abortion legal in 1973.

"There's never been a more important time to stand for life," Beckmann said.

Vice President Terry Aparicio said, "Please join us as we celebrate life."

The march on the Parkway will be escorted by Pigeon Forge police. There will be a designated van for those not able to walk, but who would like to participate.
